In its natural form, tungsten is a metal that is often fragile and difficult to work with. However, in its pure state it is easy to work with using forging, wire drawing, extrusion and frittering techniques. Of all of the metals in their pure form, tungsten has the highest melting point (3,410ºC or 6,170ºF), lowest vapour pressure (at temperatures greater than 1,650ºC or 3,002ºF) and the greatest resistance to traction.
Main characteristics:- Totally stable, non-toxic, inert.- Strength and rigidity. - Persistent to 1,000°C. - Machined using traditional systems and methods. High-Density Tungsten (WHD)
