We arrange the repair of power contactors at a specialist workshop: diagnosis, replacement of contacts and worn parts, and a final check before the unit is returned to you.
Large-frame contactors are often part of critical installations, and replacing them outright may require changes to panels, wiring or schematics. Repairing them keeps the original equipment in service for a smaller investment.
The repair focuses on the parts subject to wear: main and auxiliary contacts, arc chutes, springs, flexible connections and mechanism components. Each job is defined after a preliminary diagnosis of the unit.
Inspection of the condition of contacts, mechanism, coil and arc chutes.
Replacement of contacts, flexibles, springs and worn parts, or reconditioning of contacts by build-up welding and machining where feasible.
Functional check of the repaired unit before it is returned.
| Equipment | Industrial, railway and marine power contactors; scope according to part number |
|---|---|
| Typical scope | Contacts, arc chutes, flexibles, springs, coil |
| Service type | Repair at a specialist workshop |
| Verification | Functional tests after repair; scope defined in the quotation |
Feasibility, materials, dimensions and tolerances are confirmed for each part number after reviewing drawings, samples or equipment data.
Traction, line and auxiliary contactors.
Motor drives in steel, mining and cement plants.
Contactors in shipboard electrical switchboards.
Equipment with no factory spares or long replacement lead times.
For large-frame contactors, special equipment or discontinued models, repair is usually faster and more cost-effective than replacement, and it avoids modifying the installation.
It depends on the diagnosis. Typically contacts, arc chutes, springs and flexibles; where necessary, also the coil and mechanism parts.
We assess reproducing it through reverse engineering from the original part.
In some cases, worn contacts can be reconditioned by build-up welding and machining. If this is not feasible, they are replaced with equivalent new parts.
Fixed and moving contact sets, silver contact tips and spare parts for industrial power contactors.
