Contactors for high-power motors in pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors.
Electrical contacts · Contactors
We supply fixed and moving contacts, complete contact kits and contact tips for power contactors, either equivalent to the original part or made to measure.
The main contacts of a contactor suffer arc erosion every time it opens and closes. Over time, pitting, loss of contact material and overheating appear, increasing contact resistance and the risk of contact welding.
In many power contactors the contacts are replaceable parts. Changing them restores correct performance without replacing the whole contactor or modifying the panel, which is especially useful in installations with older or large-frame equipment.
Individual parts or complete sets per pole, depending on the contactor configuration.
Silver or silver alloy tips joined to the copper carrier according to the original part design.
Contact bridges, contact pressure springs, fasteners and flexible connections belonging to the assembly, where required.
| Equipment | Industrial and railway power contactors; scope according to part number |
|---|---|
| Part type | Fixed contact, moving contact, contact bridge, complete kit |
| Carrier materials | Electrolytic copper; others to drawing |
| Contact material | Silver and silver alloys depending on application |
| Coatings | Silver plating, tin plating or others to specification |
| Starting point | Manufacturer part number, drawing or sample |
Feasibility, materials, dimensions and tolerances are confirmed for each part number after reviewing drawings, samples or equipment data.
Contactors for high-power motors in pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors.
Line, traction and auxiliary contactors in rolling stock and substations.
Switching of high-current resistive and inductive loads.
Contactors with frequent switching in overhead cranes and hoists.
As a general guide, when there is significant loss of contact material, deep craters, deformation or signs of overheating. Always follow the equipment manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
On large-frame contactors or equipment that is hard to replace, changing the contacts is usually faster and more cost-effective. If the mechanism, coil or arc chute is damaged, a full repair should be considered.
This is standard practice to keep contact pressure and wear balanced across the poles. We will tell you the recommended kit for your equipment.
It depends on the current, voltage, load type and switching frequency. If the original data is not available, we determine it together with the manufacturer based on the application.
