Tantalum Wire

Drawn tantalum wire (Ta ≥ 99.9%) from 0.05 mm diameter. Inert, biocompatible (ISO 10993) and radiopaque, it is the wire of choice for permanent cardiovascular and orthopaedic sutures. Also used in tantalum capacitor anodes and vacuum electronics components.

• Diameters 0.05-5 mm; coils and cut-to-length pieces
• ISO 10993 biocompatible, passing cytotoxicity, sensitisation and implantation tests
• Radiopaque, visible under fluoroscopy and radiography for postoperative follow-up
• Inert in body fluids and concentrated acids (HF, HCl, H2SO4)
• ASTM F560 for permanent implant applications
